Turkey Hunting

There are two types of turkey hunts, a semi-guided hunt for the more experienced hunter and fully guided hunt for the beginner.  The semi-guided hunt will start the day before the hunt begins with a guide showing the hunters the property boundries, where the last place the birds were while we were scouting before your arrival, explaine the conditions and terrain and any other information the hunter will need to increase his/her chances to take a turkey.  The morning of the hunt a guide will be taking you to the field and be around if you need any help or have questions through out the day.  While your hunting in the field, our guides will continue to scout other areas to find more birds and other opportunities for the hunters.

The fully guided hunt has an addition cost per day and a guide who is familiar with the land and the turkey's habits will guide the hunters from start to finish.  The guides will be scouting the birds before you arrive and will have everything ready apon your arrival.  If your new to the area or new to turkey hunting, paying a little extra for a guide will greatly increase your chances of successfully taking at least one turkey.
During each of the seasons, hunters are allowed to harvest two turkeys, except for the late fall shotgun season which you are allowed one bird.  Sping turkey hunters are allowed to use a shotgun or bow, while the lengthy fall season is bow only except for a short late season which you may use a shotgun.  We only allow turkey hunting until 2:00PM so the birds have time to relax and will continue to roost in the same area.  You can combine any of the fall turkey seasons with a deer hunt for the ultimate combo hunt (see combo hunts).  Spring hunters can only shoot male (tom) turkeys and fall hunters have the option of harvesting a bird of any sex.  The only firearms allowed during the spring and late fall turkey seasons are shotguns from 10 to 20 gauge.  Silver Creek Outfitters LLC recommends a 10 or 12 gauge with a full choak.

Silver Creek has over 2500 acres of prime turkey hunting property and over the past ten years it has been under very strict regulations.  Only a limited number of hunters had the opportunity to hunt turkeys on this property.  In the past few years, Silver Creek has acquired other properties joining our current boundries to offer more acreage to the hunters.  During the past ten years, the turkey population has exploded, offering more opportunities to harvest a nice tom.  We will only book 4 hunters at a time to allow more room for each hunter.  Groups larger than 4 can be accommodated if hunters team up and hunt together (call in advance for arrangements).  We at Silver Creek Outfitters LLC want each hunter to have the hunt of a lifetime and with a large population of turkeys, the hunter should be able to take at least one trophy tom.  Don't forget to look at the videos of what you will be hunting (Turkey Videos).
